TEACHING

James has taught, directed and lectured at Franklin & Marshall College, the University of Michigan, Concordia University, the University of Washington, and New York University, among others.

Currently he teaches Musical Theatre at AMDA New York.

TRAINING

James earned a Bachelors Degree in Theatre and English at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and then a Masters in Fine Arts (Acting) in the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of Washington, Seattle.

James has been based in New York City since 1993; 'went pro' with Actors' Equity Association in '93, AFTRA in 1995, and SAG in 1997. As a Union leader, he is presently serving his fourth term as a National Councilor for Actors' Equity, the union that represents professional Stage Managers and Actors.
